An Adaptive Maximum Power Point Tracker for Photovoltaic Arrays Using an Improved Soft Computing Algorithm

This paper presents an improved version of the firefly algorithm (FA) by which a maximum power point (MPP) tracker was developed to track down global (GMPP) partially shaded photovoltaic module array (PVMA). As first step, our team high-voltage step-up converter where coupled inductor used store energy so that duty cycle can be reduced as raise voltage gain. The single-peaked P-V output characteristic curve PV turns out contain multiple peaks when is shaded. consequence, conventional MPP trackers occasionally local (LMPP), instead desired GMPP, and falls accordingly. Therefore, FA proposed way ensure GMPP tracked in more efficient way. Using Matlab software, tracking performance finally simulated five scenarios. it turned out, provided high gain at relatively low cycle, outperformed original terms time.
